Women's Health Field Guide Insights from Women's Lived Experiences
At Under the Sisterhood, we believe women's lived experiences are a powerful source of insight.
The Women's Health Field Guide builds on hundreds of stories shared across life stages to surface the patterns, signals, and unmet needs shaping women's health today. This edition explores what women do when they are not heard, from seeking second and third opinions to advocating for themselves, finding community, and changing their outcomes.
This Field Guide goes beyond individual stories to reveal the patterns, signals, and opportunities emerging across women's lived experiences. By listening at scale, we begin to see what women need, where systems fall short, and how change is already happening.
For decades, systems have been designed around a “default” human who doesn’t exist, leaving many people navigating experiences that fall outside what those systems were built to support. Through hundreds of hours of deep listening, we uncovered what we call Otherhood, the lived experience of being unseen or unsupported, and the hidden “tax” it places on health, performance, and trust. OtherhoodSpeaks brings these voices forward, revealing where systems break down and what becomes possible when people are truly heard. If you’re ready to better understand the gap and begin closing it, start here.
This report goes beyond insights—it captures what happens when others own their experiences and begin to reshape the systems around them. Through shared stories, we reveal what matters most—and why it’s time to truly listen. Explore the findings, embrace the voices, and help turn awareness into action. Download the Insights Report →
